| 5th World Rogaining Championships |
These are scheduled for 26-27 July 2002 in the Czech Republic. The
WRC Manager, Gordon Birch, has been in regular contact with the Czech
organizing team since assuming the position in late 2001. A visit
to the Czech Republic in June 2001 provided the opportunity for Gordon
to speak with the Czech team, visit the main towns and event site,
and resolve some differences regarding the organizing of this major
rogaine. Progress has been disseminated back to the IRF in the form
of short reports, via the IRF Newsletter, and also directly to interested
parties within the Australian Rogaining Association.

| 6th World Rogaining Championships |
There were three applications to hold the World Championships in 2004:
from China, Australia and USA. The Arizona (USA) bid was successful,
and all proposers have been advised of the outcome and thanked for
their efforts in preparing high quality bids.

| 7th World Rogaining Championships |
No decision has yet been made whether 7WRC should be held in 2005
or 2006. The two-year pattern has operated since the 1998, but there
are several parties with expressed interest in holding future World
Championships. These include China, Russia, New South Wales and South
Australia. Rotation of the championships on an annual basis between
northern, and southern, hemispheres has been muted.

The position of World Rogaining Championships Manager is due for
election in 2004.
